The Living Kitchen, a store-within-a-store concept, houses the company's high-end refrigeration and cooking appliances in a 1000 square foot enclosed space, outfitted with beautiful cabinetry, counter and floor materials. The Living Kitchen, which debuted in 2005, is designed to present Sub-Zero and Wolf brands in the environment in which they are intended – in vignettes showcasing the breadth of products, and offering consumers the opportunity to experience Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances in a real kitchen setting. “The Living Kitchen is truly a destination shopping experience for homeowners and design professionals,” said Ken Goss of Specialties Showroom . “It's a jewel in our showroom and a extension of the level of service and expertise we strive to offer our customers.” “For us , Specialties Showroom was the natural choice for a Living Kitchen location,” said Bruce Trevarrow of Trevarrow Inc. , Sub-Zero and Wolf's exclusive distributor in Michigan . “Its service philosophy and leadership in representing our products make for an ideal outlet location.” The Living Kitchen initiative has already rolled out to each Sub-Zero and Wolf distributor showroom nationwide and represents part of an aggressive multi-year branding and product development strategy for the 60-year-old family-owned company. “Simply lining products up against a wall doesn't cut it anymore. Much like luxury automotive manufacturers such as Mercedes and retailers like Neiman Marcus have branded the consumer luxury retail experience, we are surrounding these two specialty brands in what we believe is a powerful shopping context,” said Jim Bakke, President and CEO of Sub-Zero and Wolf. Prototyped at Sub-Zero and Wolf's new Westye F. Bakke Training Center in Fitchburgh, Wis., The Living Kitchen reveals the company's newest kitchen appliances, including the Sub-Zero 736 TR all-refrigerator unit, which rounds out the company's popular Integrated Line of Refrigeration, and Wolf's sealed burner rangetop with a welded burner pan for easier clean-up. In addition to these newest products, The Living Kitchen also features other recent product introductions such as the Sub-Zero PRO 48 professional-style residential refrigerator, an induction cooktop from Wolf that brings the popular European cooking method to North America, and a 15” wine storage unit, the smallest of the wine units pioneered by Sub-Zero.
